Two clubs. Two invitations. And — for the most dedicated — a longer path that doesn't end at either of them.
1
Start the journey
Every Bill Cho's student begins the same way — show up, learn the basics, earn your white belt. The Masters get to know you, your goals, and your work ethic. Club membership isn't on day one — it's earned.
2
Black Belt Club — the first invitation
Black Belt Club is invitation-only. When a Master sees consistent commitment, work ethic, and the right attitude on the mat, the family is invited to a private conversation. If you accept, the student receives the BBC vest, the option of a special BBC dobok, and a new set of color belts — each one striped with black to mark the path to come.
3
Earn your black belt (1st Dan)
Black Belt Club training carries you through every color belt and every test along the way. The day you tie on that solid black belt is the day a new chapter begins — and a new conversation about what's next.
4
Master Club — the second invitation
Master Club is invitation-only — and it can only be extended after you've earned your black belt. It's for the black belts who have decided they want to lead — and are ready to begin the training that gets them there: how to teach younger students, how to lead a class, how to referee, judge poomsae and sparring, keep score at tournaments — plus advanced techniques and refinement of everything you've already learned. Members receive the Master Club vest and the option of the Master Club dobok. The invitation isn't a surprise. By the time it arrives, you'll know you've been working toward it.
5
The longer arc — Master, and one day, possibly Grand Master
Master Club isn't the end either. For students who keep showing up, keep refining, and keep a humble attitude of always learning — the path extends further: higher Dan ranks (2nd, 3rd, 4th, and beyond), the title of Master (사범 · Sabum), and one day, possibly Grand Master (관장 · Kwanjang). The students sitting in Master Club today are on the path that, decades from now, leads exactly there. This is a lifetime art.
